TruckSmarter is gone. Keep your loads moving.

The app went dark on September 4, three days after TruckSmarter announced it. Your broker contacts and rate cons didn't go with it. This page shows how to get them back and find loads this week.

What happened

On September 1, TruckSmarter said it had been acquired and would shut down its app that Friday, September 4. The free load board and the paid Dispatch product both went away. FreightWaves reported that Dispatch subscriptions were canceled and that Dispatch invoices paid in the last 30 days are refunded automatically, so there's nothing you need to do.

Loads you hauled before September 4 are still paid by the broker on the rate con, the same as always. If you used TruckSmarter's quick pay or factoring, contact OTR Solutions about those payments.

If you factored through TruckSmarter, that part of the business moved to OTR Solutions in November 2025, so your factoring account is with OTR now.

Get your broker list back from your email

Every load you booked left a rate con in your inbox. Search your email for these words:

Each rate con has the broker's name, their MC number and the rep who booked the load. Brokers you already hauled for still have your carrier packet on file, so you can call that rep and ask for more freight without setting up again.

If you booked a load in the app and the rate con never reached your email, ask that broker's rep to resend it. Then put everyone in one list: broker, rep, phone, the lanes they gave you, and what they paid.

Where to find loads now

1. Call the brokers on your list first. A rep who knows your truck will often call you before a load hits the board.
2. Load boards. DAT One and Truckstop are the two biggest, and Truckstop is strong for flatbed. 123Loadboard costs less and has fewer loads. Basic plans start around $35 to $50 a month, and the tiers with rate data cost more.
3. Price every load with your deadhead in it. A $2,000 load with 500 loaded miles pays $4.00 a mile. Add 150 empty miles to get there and it pays $3.08.

If you want someone else to run the boards

Before you hire any dispatcher, check these five things:

• They send you the broker's original rate con, not a retyped copy.
• They don't take a cut of detention, layover or TONU.
• There's no setup fee and no contract.
• Loads go on your MC, and the broker pays you or your factoring company.
• They never ask for your load board or bank passwords.
